Big Dreams Network 2026: Building Southwest Florida’s Next Sports Media Platform

Big Dreams Network is preparing its next chapter in Southwest Florida sports media, with original programming, an owned digital home and human-led editorial standards.

A New Chapter for Big Dreams Network

Big Dreams Network is entering a new chapter, with a clear goal: build a trusted sports-media destination for Southwest Florida that tells the stories of athletes, coaches, programs and communities.

Our focus is Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties. That is the community we want this next chapter to serve.

The work is still underway. We have strengthened our digital home and built the foundation for a News platform. The next step is to turn that foundation into carefully sourced stories, with people accountable for what we publish.

More Than Game Scores

Scores and highlights matter. So do the people behind them.

We want to make room for athlete features, coach interviews, recruiting education and community storytelling alongside game coverage. Those are editorial goals, not a claim that every coverage lane is already staffed or operating.

The purpose is to help document what sports mean to Southwest Florida, beyond the final score.

Building Original Big Dreams Programming

Big Dreams Sports TV is part of our media family. Our website also provides homes for programming including Coaches Corner, Flag on the Play, Let’s Talk About It, Beyond The Field and WE ARE 239.

After the Whistle is another Big Dreams Network property; its dedicated website home is being prepared.

These properties give us a foundation for different kinds of sports storytelling. Interviews can make space for a coach’s perspective. Video coverage can bring viewers closer to the field. Longer conversations can explore subjects that need more room than a short clip.

Our goal is to develop those opportunities responsibly. We are not announcing new show schedules or guaranteed coverage in this article.

Building Our Own Digital Home

We have been rebuilding BigDreamsNetwork.com as a home for the network’s shows, coverage pathways and recruiting resources.

The longer-term ambition is an owned sports-media destination where audiences can find original reporting, athlete features and video in one place.

Social media remains a useful distribution tool. An owned website gives us a place to organize our work and an opportunity to build a more direct relationship with the audience. That relationship still has to be earned.

A New Big Dreams Newsroom

We have built and launched a new Big Dreams Network News section designed to support carefully sourced local sports coverage.

Preparation includes an editorial workflow centered on verification, sourcing, media rights, corrections and human approval. Building the technology is one part of that work; applying those standards to each story is the next.

AI and automation can assist research, organization, drafting and operations. They do not replace human accountability or final publication approval.

During the initial launch period, every Big Dreams Network News article requires final publication approval from Coach Drew. No article moves forward on an AI system’s authority.

Speed matters in sports media. Trust matters more.

Protecting Athletes and Their Stories

Youth and high-school coverage can involve minors. That makes accuracy, permissions and careful decisions about identification especially important.

Our editorial preparation puts athlete protection alongside the work of telling a meaningful story. Facts, images, video, sources and the way an athlete is portrayed all deserve attention before publication.

We will not treat a publicly accessible photograph as evidence of permission to reuse it. Repeated rumors will not substitute for verified reporting.

Being first is not worth being wrong.

Building a Sustainable Media Business

Consistent coverage needs a sustainable business behind it.

Our goal is to develop advertising and sponsorship opportunities that help local businesses reach the Southwest Florida sports community while supporting investment in reporting, production and storytelling.

Those are opportunities we intend to build, not claims of signed sponsors, revenue or business results.

As we develop them, paid content must be clearly identified. Sponsorship should support the work without being presented as independent editorial judgment.

Built in Southwest Florida

Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties are at the center of this vision.

We want our reporting to reflect the people and places that give local sports its meaning: youth fields, school programs, coaches, families and community conversations.

That focus does not promise coverage of every team or event. It gives us a starting point for deciding where to listen, what to verify and which stories we can tell well.

What Comes Next

The build is not finished.

Our next goals are to prepare verified original reporting, develop athlete and community stories, strengthen video programming and keep improving the network’s digital home.

Each step needs the same discipline: distinguish plans from results, check the evidence and take responsibility for what reaches the public.

We are building toward a lasting home for Southwest Florida sports. The platform matters because of the stories it can help us tell—and the trust we need to earn to tell them.

Welcome to the next chapter of Big Dreams Network.
